Another Oil Pulling Post..

For many years now I have been grinding my teeth at night in my sleep. I had no idea this was happening until I was out shopping one day and I felt something in my mouth, like a pebble. It was a piece of my right front tooth that had broken off from behind so it wasn’t visibly obvious, thank goodness. But still, my front tooth, what if it got worse and became obvious when I opened my mouth? All I could see were dollar signs and building my dentist a new addition to his house!

So, I saw a dentist and he filled it in like a cavity from behind. The tooth was weak due to the grinding and my bite. Great! So, a few years go by and I’ve done the mouth guard thing off and on and now I’m living in California from Florida and don’t know anyone, let alone a good dentist. Now the same tooth is very dark at the top where the tooth the gum attach and it looks diseased or something, not good. Again, I’m thinking, holy cow this is probably going to hurt to fix and be pretty pricey!

So, I really don’t know what to do at this point and I’d heard about “Oil Pulling” and honestly, it sounded kind of gross. I mean swishing oil around in your mouth for 5 to 20 minutes, really? Who does that? I couldn’t wrap my brain around how it could be beneficial. But, let me tell you, it works and I am living proof!

The key for me was to use pure, organic, unrefined coconut oil! I take about 1 tablespoon full and swish it around in my mouth at least once a day sometimes twice a day. My gum has attached itself back to the tooth and the darkness is much lighter. I’ve been oil pulling for about 6 months now and will do it for the rest of my life as not only has this helped my tooth and gums so much it also pulls toxins from my entire body. It’s a win-win!

It’s Pronounced “Solay!”

Unless you’ve been living away from civilization you’ve most likely heard of the importance of drinking healthy, clean water! Our bodies mainly consist of it and it improves the alkalization to keep our bodies non-acidic and healthy.

I have a morning routine that I’d like to share with you that keeps me pretty healthy and going strong. First thing before I even get out of bed I drink a large tall glass of room temperature water. that I keep on my nightstand. This starts the digestion process and starts my metabolism right away. Drinking room temperature or warm water first thing in the morning clears away the waste that our bodies have been storing that in effect compromise our immune system.  Some people like to add fresh lemon juice to their water, it just depends on what works for you. I have a citrus sensitivity so I normally don’t, but I do every once in a while, say if I’m congested or in need of vitamin C.

About 30 minutes after that I drink my second glass of room temp, filtered water and I add SOLE’ to it. ( Pronounced Solay). What’s that, you ask? Well, let me tell you, for it has improved my health tremendously and I am forever grateful to my friend and co-worker who introduced me to it!

To make Sole’. Start with a natural salt, such as Himalayan Pink or another type that is healthy and mineralized (NOT TABLE SALT)! You take a glass container with a plastic lid (can not be metal) and fill it til about 1/4 full with the salt then add pure filtered water up to almost the top, leave about an inch clear so you can gently shake it (after putting the lid on, of course.). So you give it a few gentle shakes and then let it settle for about a day until the water becomes clear. There should be some sediment on the bottom off the jar if not, add more salt and let it set again. The idea is to saturate the water with the mineralized salt. Once it is done add 1 tsp (again do not use a metal measure) to a large glass of filtered water and drink it. I usually take my vitamins and herbs with this glass.

One thing I would Iike to share is that it works great on your bowels so please do yourself and everybody else a favor and don’t leave your house after drinking it for about an hour 😉.
